Do I need a new airbag module or can mine be reset?
In most cases it can be reset. After the airbags and pretensioners are replaced, the control module itself is usually fine — it’s just holding the crash lock. We reset it to factory condition and clear the codes, which is far cheaper than a new module. If a module is physically damaged, we’ll tell you and program a replacement instead.
Will a regular scan tool turn off my airbag light?

I initially went to the dealership when the airbag light in my Nissan Rogue had come on. Upon diagnostic review, the dealership advised that it would cost around $4500 to correct the issues that they were seeing with the system.
