Acknowledgments, Disclaimers & Legal Consents

IMPORTANT: These Acknowledgments, Disclaimers & Legal Consents apply to all LockNCal customers unless a more specific service disclosure states otherwise. By booking, paying for, or receiving services from LockNCal, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.
This page works together with LockNCal’s Return & Refund Policy, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and any service-specific terms and conditions accepted during checkout. If there is any conflict, the more specific service disclosure controls for that service.
1) All Sales Final / No Refunds
I understand and agree that all payments are final and non-refundable. LockNCal does not offer refunds once a service, deposit, booking fee, report, or parts purchase has been booked and paid for, except where LockNCal expressly states otherwise in writing.
2) No Customer Cancellations
I understand that LockNCal does not offer customer cancellations once an appointment, service, or order has been booked and paid for. My payment reserves technician capacity, scheduling time, travel planning, administrative resources, and/or shop capacity.
3) Customer Rescheduling Requests
I understand that customer-requested reschedules are not guaranteed and may be granted only at LockNCal’s discretion, subject to availability and possible additional fees. No refunds are issued for customer scheduling conflicts, no-shows, missed appointments, or reschedule requests.
4) LockNCal Rescheduling Rights
I understand LockNCal may reschedule any appointment at any time, including on short notice, if LockNCal determines in its sole discretion that conditions are unsafe, unsuitable, impractical, or operationally impossible for the requested service.
This may include, but is not limited to, weather conditions, unsafe travel conditions, technician illness or emergency, staffing shortages, service vehicle breakdowns or accidents, equipment or software failures, OEM server issues, prior appointments running longer than expected, unsafe or unsuitable worksite conditions, lack of required power access, lack of required space, or any other condition beyond LockNCal’s reasonable control.
If LockNCal reschedules an appointment, no refund will be issued. The appointment will instead be moved to LockNCal’s next available date and time, subject to scheduling availability.
If the replacement date or time offered by LockNCal does not work for me, I may request another available appointment slot from LockNCal’s then-current availability. LockNCal does not guarantee any specific replacement date or time, same-week service, expedited priority, or assignment of a particular technician.
If I do not accept or respond to a rescheduling notice within 72 hours, LockNCal may release the appointment slot and place the booking on hold until I respond. No refund will be issued.
I understand LockNCal may notify me of any delay or rescheduling by email, phone call, and/or text message using the contact information I provided.
5) Accuracy of Vehicle and Booking Information
I certify that all information I provide to LockNCal, including but not limited to the vehicle year, make, model, trim, VIN, key status, installed parts, symptoms, ownership information, and service address/location, is accurate, complete, and current.
I understand LockNCal is not responsible for delays, incorrect quoting, additional charges, inability to complete service, or other problems caused by inaccurate, incomplete, or late information provided by me.
6) Safe Access, Worksite Conditions, and Power Requirements
I understand that many LockNCal services require specific site and vehicle conditions. I agree to provide, where applicable:
- A safe and accessible vehicle
- A safe work environment
- Flat and level ground
- A clean and spacious work area
- A vehicle with a good battery and stable voltage
- Access to a power outlet when required
- A qualified person on-site to assist with the removal/reinstallation of parts if the booked service does not include that work
If the vehicle, worksite, battery condition, access, or setup requirements are not met, LockNCal may refuse, pause, stop, or reschedule service, and all payments remain final and non-refundable.
7) Proof of Ownership / Authorization
I understand that certain services, especially automotive locksmith services and some IMMO, anti-theft, and safety-related programming services, may require proof of vehicle ownership or authorization before service is performed.
I understand that LockNCal may require a current government-issued photo ID and supporting documentation, such as a title, registration, proof of insurance, a bill of sale, a work order, or other reasonable proof of authority over the vehicle.
If I cannot provide acceptable documentation, LockNCal may refuse service, and my payment remains final and non-refundable.
8) Scope Limits / No Guaranteed Results
I understand that LockNCal works on complex vehicle safety and security systems. That successful service completion depends on many factors outside LockNCal’s control, including vehicle condition, prior repairs, correct parts, correct installation, stable voltage, module communication, network integrity, software access, OEM procedures, and the presence of additional hidden faults.
Unless LockNCal expressly agrees otherwise in writing, I understand I am paying for professional time and attempted/performed service, not guaranteed results or guaranteed resolution of every issue.
9) No Obligation to Provide Root-Cause Diagnosis
I understand LockNCal is not obligated to provide root-cause diagnosis, electrical pinpoint testing, wiring tracing, repair recommendations, or full-vehicle troubleshooting unless I specifically book a service that includes those tasks.
I understand many vehicle systems are interconnected, and one visible fault may lead to another. As a result, scan results, findings, or service outcomes may not reveal every issue present on the vehicle at the same time.
10) Additional Charges and Additional Services
I understand that some vehicles require additional parts, procedures, labor, programming, calibration, keys, or service steps beyond those included in the original booking. If additional items are required, LockNCal will provide a quote for approval before continuing when reasonably possible.
If I approve the additional work, I understand additional charges must be paid as communicated. If I decline the required additional items, service may stop, and all prior payments remain final and non-refundable.
11) Parts Disclosure
I understand that, unless otherwise stated in writing, LockNCal may use OEM refurbished and/or aftermarket parts depending on service type, availability, and pricing. If I want new OEM parts, I must request that in advance, and an adjusted quote may apply.
I understand that all parts sales are final, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable through LockNCal, and that any applicable manufacturer warranty is handled according to the applicable supplier/manufacturer terms, not by LockNCal unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
12) Limited Labor Guarantee (30 Days – Labor/Workmanship Only)
I understand LockNCal provides a limited 30-day labor/artistry guarantee for labor performed by LockNCal only.
I understand this limited labor/artistry guarantee does not cover parts, pre-existing conditions, wiring faults, electrical/network communication issues, corrosion/water intrusion, new accidents, tampering, third-party repairs, or consequential damages such as towing, rental vehicles, lost wages, downtime, or storage fees.
13) Authorization to Access, Move, Test, and Operate Vehicle
I authorize LockNCal and its technicians to access, inspect, connect diagnostic/programming/calibration equipment to, power, move, operate, road-test when required, and otherwise handle the vehicle as reasonably necessary to perform the requested service(s).
I acknowledge that services involving ADAS, SRS, immobilizer, anti-theft, key programming, module programming, and related systems involve inherent electronic and mechanical risks, and I accept those risks to the fullest extent permitted by law.
14) Media Recording, Documentation, and Content Release
I understand and agree that LockNCal may photograph, film, and/or audio-record service work before, during, and after service. Recordings may include people, voices, my vehicle, its interior and exterior, VIN, license plate, diagnostic tool screens, scan results, fault codes, and any other content captured during service.
I grant LockNCal and its owners, technicians, partners, contractors, and affiliates a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, edit, modify, publish, distribute, display, and create derivative works from such content in any media now known or later developed for lawful purposes, including documentation, quality control, training, internal use, website content, marketing, advertising, and social media.
I waive any right to inspect or approve the final content and acknowledge that I will receive no compensation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless LockNCal from claims related to the creation or use of such content, including privacy, publicity, likeness, and similar claims.
15) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I understand and agree that LockNCal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to towing costs, rental vehicle costs, missed work, lost wages, storage fees, delay-related losses, downtime, inconvenience, or other related costs.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I understand and agree that LockNCal is not liable for issues arising from pre-existing mechanical or electrical conditions, faulty wiring, aftermarket modifications, manufacturer defects, prior collision damage, water intrusion, corrosion, weak battery/low voltage conditions, module/network communication faults, improper prior repairs, hidden damage, or other vehicle conditions outside LockNCal’s control.
If LockNCal is found liable for any reason, LockNCal’s total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service at issue.
16) Electronic Signature and Legal Consent
By submitting a booking form, checking an acknowledgment box, and/or completing payment, I acknowledge that my electronic signature and submission constitute a legally binding agreement under the E-SIGN Act (15 U.S.C. §7001).
I confirm that I have read, understood, and agreed to these Acknowledgments, Disclaimers & Legal Consents, together with LockNCal’s other applicable policies and service-specific terms.
