📦 How mail-in airbag module reset works
If your airbag light is on after a collision, you almost certainly don’t need a new module — you need the crash data cleared. Here’s the whole process, nationwide:
- Book online. Start your mail-in reset and send us your VIN so we can confirm we cover your module.
- Send us the module. Remove your SRS airbag control module and ship it to us with our prepaid label — shipping is on us.
- We reset the crash data. We clear the stored crash data and hard codes, returning the module to its original factory condition.
- We send it back. Most modules are back in the mail within 24 business hours — free return shipping, ready to plug in.
- Install and go. Reinstall the module, the airbag light is off, and your vehicle is good to go.

The website was easy to navigate and I found the service I needed and was able to book the perfect time between work. I initially went to the dealership when the airbag light in my Nissan Rogue had come on. Upon diagnostic review, the dealership advised that it would cost around $4500 to correct the issues that they were seeing with the system. I decided to get a 2nd opinion and I called DFW Safety Restore. Jose was able to work me in next day. He was prompt and right on time for my appointment in coming out to my house to run a diagnostic on my car. The first scan showed a host of issues, the same issues the dealership reported and more. So many, that Jose suggested resetting the codes and rerunning the diagnostic to get a true picture of what was going on. He said if there are true issues with the system the diagnostic codes would reappear. The reset worked and the system went back to normal. I am so thankful for Jose, and DFW Safety Restore for saving me from unnecessary and very expensive work on my car.
