Terms and Conditions for Clockspring Replacement Services

IMPORTANT: The clockspring (also known as the spiral cable) is a critical steering and SRS-related component that may affect the driver airbag, horn, steering wheel controls, steering angle data, and other vehicle functions. Clockspring replacement depends on the correct selection of parts, proper installation, vehicle condition, and the completion of any additional required repairs, programming, or calibration. By booking, paying for, or receiving Clockspring Replacement Services from LockNCal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.

This page works together with LockNCal’s Return & Refund Policy, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Acknowledgments, Disclaimers & Legal Consents. If any conflict arises, these service-specific disclosure controls apply to Clockspring Replacement Services.


1) Deposit, Pricing, and What the Booking Payment Covers

I understand the amount paid at booking is a non-refundable deposit used to reserve the appointment date/time, allocate technician capacity, and begin preparing the quote, researching parts, and verifying parts.

  • The booking deposit does not include the clockspring/spiral cable, integrated sensor components, trim/fasteners, programming, calibration, or any additional repairs unless expressly stated in writing.
  • Final price depends on the vehicle’s year, make, model, and trim; whether the clockspring is standalone or integrated with other components; parts availability; and the actual condition of the steering/SRS system.
  • I understand the booking payment reserves time and resources and is not a guarantee of the final total cost.

2) VIN, Photos, and Quote Accuracy

To provide an accurate quote, I agree to promptly provide any information LockNCal reasonably requests, which may include:

  • VIN
  • Photos of the dashboard warning lights (including SRS/airbag light, where applicable)
  • Photos of the steering wheel or cluster warning messages, if visible
  • Photos of visible steering column or collision damage, if applicable
  • Any scan reports, fault-code screenshots, repair invoices, or parts lists, if available

I understand that incorrect, incomplete, or delayed information may result in quote delays, incorrect part selection, revised pricing, rescheduling, or an inability to proceed.


3) Quote Delivery and Approval

I understand a quote is generally provided by text message within 24–48 business hours after booking, excluding weekends and holidays, although parts verification or availability checks may require additional time.

  • Clockspring replacement work and parts ordering generally require my approval before LockNCal proceeds.
  • If new information is discovered after booking—such as steering column damage, driver airbag issues, additional SRS faults, wiring/connectivity issues, or integrated sensor/calibration requirements—LockNCal may issue a revised quote.
  • If I decline the quote or revised quote, all amounts already paid remain final and non-refundable.

4) Additional Components, Programming, or Calibration May Be Required

I understand clockspring replacement may not be the only repair required to restore proper steering wheel, airbag, or related system function.

Additional parts, services, or repairs may be needed, including but not limited to:

  • Driver airbag components
  • Steering column components
  • Steering angle sensor calibration or related procedures
  • Programming, coding, initialization, or relearning procedures
  • Wiring/connectors
  • Trim components or fasteners
  • Additional SRS or ADAS-related repairs

I understand that if additional components or services are required, they are billed separately unless expressly included in writing.


5) Scope Limits – No Safety Certification / No Guaranteed Roadworthiness

I understand that replacing a clockspring/spiral cable or related component does not certify that the vehicle is safe, roadworthy, or restored to OEM crash readiness.

  • LockNCal does not guarantee that clockspring replacement will fully resolve all steering, SRS, ADAS, horn, or steering wheel control issues on the vehicle.
  • I am responsible for ensuring the vehicle is fully repaired and properly inspected in accordance with OEM procedures before operating it.

6) Pre-Existing Conditions / Prior Repairs / Vehicle Condition

I understand LockNCal is not responsible for pre-existing issues or conditions that may affect clockspring replacement results, including but not limited to:

  • Prior collision repairs
  • Improper prior repairs
  • Missing components
  • Aftermarket modifications
  • Electrical/wiring faults
  • Water intrusion or corrosion
  • Module faults, sensor faults, or communication issues
  • Steering column damage
  • Vehicle condition outside LockNCal’s control

I understand such conditions may delay, increase the cost of, or prevent the successful completion of the service.


7) Vehicle Access, Appointment Readiness, and Service Conditions

I agree the vehicle will be present at the scheduled location/time, accessible, and in a reasonably safe environment for the technician to work.

  • If the vehicle is unavailable, blocked, inaccessible, unsafe, or not ready for service, LockNCal may refuse, stop, or reschedule service.
  • If service is delayed or cannot proceed due to vehicle condition, site condition, parts availability, safety concerns, or operational constraints, all payments already made remain final and non-refundable.

8) No Cancellations / No Refunds / Final Sale Policy

  • All bookings are final: Once Clockspring Replacement Services are booked and paid for, they are non-refundable.
  • No refunds due to outcome: No refund will be issued if I change my mind, decline the quote, provide incomplete or incorrect information, experience parts delays/unavailability, or if the vehicle requires additional steering, SRS, ADAS, or related repairs beyond clockspring replacement.
  • No refunds due to service stoppage: If additional parts, repairs, programming, calibration, or charges are required and declined, service may stop, and all prior payments remain final and non-refundable.
  • Chargeback acknowledgement: I agree not to dispute or charge back the payment because LockNCal reserves capacity and performs professional labor, administrative work, and attempted/performed service in good faith.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LockNCal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to towing costs, rental vehicle costs, storage fees, missed work, lost wages, downtime, inconvenience, or related losses.

If LockNCal is found liable for any reason, LockNCal’s total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific Clockspring Replacement Service at issue.


10) Customer Authorization

  • I confirm that I am the vehicle owner or an authorized agent for this vehicle and that the information I provide is accurate.
  • I authorize LockNCal to communicate with me by text message and phone regarding quotes, parts, approvals, scheduling, delays, and service updates.
  • I authorize LockNCal to perform the booked clockspring replacement-related work and take reasonable steps necessary to execute the approved service.

By booking, paying for, or receiving Clockspring Replacement Services from LockNCal, I electronically sign and agree to these Terms and Conditions for Clockspring Replacement Services.

If I hadn't been that would have been amazing to get it done ahead of time. He was on time and very pleasant. Worked quickly and got my problem taken care of. It was such a better experience than sitting in a waiting room with strangers or having to take an Uber back and forth to avoid such situation. This is my first mobile mechanic experience and I have to say Jose made it the best. He was early on the appointment he was very professional very knowledgeable and polite. If you need a mobile mechanic call lockncal and try to get Jose out he'll fix you right up. I initially went to the dealership when the airbag light in my Nissan Rogue had come on. Upon diagnostic review, the dealership advised that it would cost around $4500 to correct the issues that they were seeing with the system. I decided to get a 2nd opinion and I called DFW Safety Restore. Jose was able to work me in next day. He was prompt and right on time for my appointment in coming out to my house to run a diagnostic on my car. The first scan showed a host of issues, the same issues the dealership reported and more. So many, that Jose suggested resetting the codes and rerunning the diagnostic to get a true picture of what was going on. He said if there are true issues with the system the diagnostic codes would reappear. The reset worked and the system went back to normal. I am so thankful for Jose, and DFW Safety Restore for saving me from unnecessary and very expensive work on my car. If you have airbag system issues with your vehicle, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend you give DFW Safety Restore a call first.
