Mail-In Service Terms & Conditions

These Mail-In Service Terms & Conditions (“Mail-In Terms”) apply to any LockNCal mail-in service request, including use of any prepaid shipping label provided by LockNCal. By submitting a mail-in request, shipping an item to LockNCal, and/or purchasing a mail-in service, you (“Customer,” “you”) acknowledge and agree to these Mail-In Terms, along with LockNCal’s Return & Refund Policy, Terms and Conditions, and any service-specific disclosures presented at checkout.


1) Customer Packaging Responsibility

  • You are responsible for packaging: Customer is solely responsible for properly packaging the item before shipment.
  • Packaging standard: Items must be securely packed to prevent movement, impact, and moisture exposure, and to prevent damage during transit (use sufficient padding and a sturdy box).
  • Damage from packaging: LockNCal is not responsible for damage caused by improper packaging, inadequate protection, or failure to protect the item from moisture/impact.

2) Shipping, Carrier Handling, and Risk of Loss

  • Third-party carriers: Transportation is handled by third-party carriers. Carrier performance is outside LockNCal’s control.
  • Risk of loss/damage in transit: LockNCal is not responsible for loss, theft, delay, or damage caused by the carrier, improper packaging, incorrect addressing, or circumstances beyond LockNCal’s control.
  • Recommended protections: Customer is strongly encouraged to use tracking and to purchase shipping insurance where available. If a prepaid label is provided, the Customer is still responsible for proper packaging.

3) No Transit or Delivery Time Guarantees

  • Estimates only: All shipping and transit times are estimates only.
  • No guarantee of delivery date: LockNCal does not guarantee delivery dates, transit times, or carrier performance.
  • Delays: If shipping is delayed (to or from LockNCal), inspection and completion timelines may be delayed as well. LockNCal is not liable for such delays.

4) Service Authorization and Inspection

  • Authorization: By submitting a mail-in request and sending an item, the Customer authorizes LockNCal to receive, inspect, test (where applicable), and perform the selected mail-in service on the item shipped.
  • Condition limitations: Customer understands mail-in outcomes depend on the condition of the item received. Severely damaged, corroded, flooded, internally defective, altered, or incorrect items may prevent successful service.
  • Additional issues: If additional issues are discovered that require a service different from the one purchased, LockNCal may notify Customer of available options. Customer approval is required before any additional paid service is performed.

5) Return Shipping and Address Accuracy

  • Return destination: Return shipping will be sent to the Customer’s provided return address.
  • Address accuracy: Customer is responsible for ensuring the return address and contact details are accurate. LockNCal is not responsible for misdelivery caused by incorrect or incomplete address information provided by the Customer.
  • Undeliverable/returned shipments: If a return shipment is returned as undeliverable due to address errors or refusal, additional shipping/handling fees may apply to re-ship.

6) No Refunds (Mail-In Services)

Mail-in services are generally final and non-refundable as described in LockNCal’s Return & Refund Policy and service-specific disclosures. In limited situations, LockNCal may provide a partial refund, as explicitly stated in the specific mail-in disclosure accepted at checkout (for example, capability-only limitations). Any such exception is narrow and does not apply to damaged/defective items or transit issues.


7) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • LocLawal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to any mail-in service (including loss of use, lost profits, downtime, towing, rental cars, or similar costs).
  • If LockNCal is found liable for any reason, LockNCal’s total liability for any claim related to a mail-in service will not exceed the amount paid for the specific mail-in service at issue.

8) Governing Law

These Laws are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.


9) Acceptance

By proceeding with a mail-in request and/or purchasing a mail-in service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Mail-In Service Terms & Conditions.
